Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor to be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office!!!
Sky Sports Box Office will show the hugely-anticipated clash between undefeated former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather and current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
Sky Sports have announced that Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor will be screened live on Sky Sports Box Office.
The broadcaster saw off competition from BT Sport to screen the fight on August 26.
The fight will be available to Sky customers on Sky Sports Box Office for £19.95 in the UK and €24.95 for Republic of Ireland.
That might be because of the astronomical prices set by promoters – the cheapest original tickets on Ticketmaster have a face value of $3,500. Or maybe fans are just waiting for the right time to buy, hoping the price will go down.
Either way, promoter Leonard Ellerbe isn’t concerned. He says the fight will not only sell out, but break records for the richest gate.
“We’re very excited and very happy with ticket sales so far,” Ellerbe said. “We’re well on our way to smashing our own record which transcended the sport.”
The MayMac traveling circus arrives Thursday in Brooklyn, New York, where Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will roast each other (and Showtime executives) for the third straight day in front of raucous crowds eagerly anticipating their Aug. 26 bout.
The two fighters are expected to take the stage at the Barclays Center at 7 pm ET. (Update: They’re late. Hopefully they’ll make this worth it.) Their antics will be streamed live online by the UFC, which you can watch below. Warning: If Thursday’s event is anything like Tuesday’s in Los Angeles and Wednesday’s in Toronto, expect plenty of NSFW language.
Showtime is also streaming the event live on YouTube. Cable subscribers can watch a slightly more sanitized, censored broadcast on Fox Sports 2, as well as their Fox Sports GO mobile app.
